Claude Code is changing how Python gets written. In September’s three workshops, I’ll show you — via hands-on exercises — how to use it well, from your very first session through to serious software engineering.
The first two workshops are introductions, and they stand alone. On September 16th you’ll use Claude Code to build applications — a command-line utility and a FastAPI app. On September 17th you’ll point it at data instead, retrieving, cleaning, analyzing and reporting on real-world data sets with Pandas.
And if you already use Claude Code daily but want much more out of it, the September 30th advanced workshop is for you. Commands, tips and tricks; plugins and skills, including Superpowers; writing your own skills; and building a complex data-analysis web app.
Along the way, you’ll learn how to use these new technologies to write better, more maintainable code faster than ever before. You’ll learn how to structure your prompts, and how to configure your preferences across sessions.
You can’t learn this from documentation. Agentic coding rewards experience — the kind of experience you get from watching an expert use it, trying it yourself, and comparing your approach to others.
That’s what these workshops are for.

Advanced Claude Code
Wednesday, September 30th
Commands: Claude Code commands, tips, and tricks.
Testing & telemetry: Knowing that Claude Code’s work is actually right — and seeing what it really did.
APIs: Best practices for using APIs from within Claude Code.
Exercise 1: Useful plugins and skills — including Superpowers.
Exercise 2: Building your own skills.
Exercise 3: Building a complex data-analysis web app.
This is not a lecture. It’s a workshop.
Every session follows the same proven structure. You’ll get expert instruction, real practice, and the kind of feedback you can’t get from a video course.
Instruction first
Before each exercise, I explain the approach: what to think about, how to structure your prompts, and what a good solution looks like.
You solve it
You work on a real problem using Claude Code. Not a toy example — a genuine challenge that mirrors what you’d encounter at work.
Group code review
After each exercise, participants share their solutions. I pull up different approaches and discuss what’s interesting about each one.
Expert demos
Throughout the workshop, I’ll tackle complex, multi-file projects. You’ll see the full process, including the mistakes and corrections.

Questions you might have
Do I need prior experience with Claude Code?
Not for the two introductory workshops on September 16th and 17th. They start from the beginning, and they are the right place to begin even if you have never opened Claude Code.
For the advanced workshop on September 30th, yes — you will be expected to have real experience using Claude Code already.
Do I need experience with Python and/or Pandas?
Yes. These workshops are for people who already write Python and want to go faster with AI. You don’t have to be an expert, but you should be comfortable with data structures, functions, and objects for all three — and with data frames for the Pandas workshop on September 17th.
Do I need a Claude subscription?
Yes, for all three. You will need an active paid Claude subscription with access to Claude Code — the smallest plan is fine — and Claude Code installed before we start.
If you are not sure how to set that up, I’ll send setup instructions before the workshop.
What if I can’t attend live?
Workshops are recorded. All participants get access to the recording. But the real value is in doing the exercises live and participating in the code review — so I strongly encourage attending live if you can.
Are the three workshops related? Do I need to take them all?
They’re independent. Take one, two, or all three, depending on your interests. The two introductions cover different ground — applications on the 16th, data analysis on the 17th — and the advanced workshop assumes you already use Claude Code.
I attended your previous agentic workshops. How are these different?
The exercises are all new, and so are the insights — but I won’t pretend there is zero overlap:
• The two introductions cover some of the same ground — they have to, and some of it is worth hearing twice, like what I put in my CLAUDE.md file. But the applications, the data sets and the exercises are all new, along with a good deal I’ve learned since.
• The advanced workshop revisits some ground too, but most of it is new: techniques and habits I’ve picked up and folded into my own daily Claude Code work over the last few months, with a particular emphasis on testing and telemetry.
